255X85 -16 Tires

To all ot there using 255X85 tires. What brand are you using and how are they holding up?

I've got Dunlop Radial Rover AT Lt255/85R16 Load range D with 20K on them. They look brand new. I've used them for hauling and some light towing. Great traction in all seasons.

whats the actual difference w/ a 255 85 tire vs. my 265 75 tire? is it fatter but the same height? any pics??

A 255X85 will be approximately 1 inch narrower and 2 inches taller than a 265X75. The 255's will be about the same height as a 285X75 but narrower.

Looking at the 245's on my truck now it seems that the extra height will work just fine. It seems that most rubbing problems show up when the edge of the wider tire rubs the wheel well during turns. Check your rig out with the wheels cocked as it is in a turn and you'll see that the ouside edge of the tire is what will make contact.
