Stock exhaust

so what I cut my stock muffler out, and welded in a flowmaster 50 HD, I'm not overly happy with the performance. I wish I would have just left it alone. My problem is now I cut up my stock exhaust, and I don't think I would be able to weld that big trash can muffler back in, anyone know where I can purchase a stock catback take off?

Lots of muffler shops take brand new exhaust systems off to install performance exhaust, since they simply unbolt you can find a new take off stock exhaust and bolt it back on.

 

Call around to all the local muffler shops.

 

Personally I would recommend a long Magnaflow, it will get rid of the crappy Flowmaster sound while increasing flow.

I just ordered a mbrp cat back system, we will see what that does for me

Whats wrong with the Flowmaster? You are not going to get a ton of hp increase with just a muffler change. There will be some...

 

Is it the drone(resonance)?

 

I pulled my stock muffler and put a flowmaster in place on my 2004 Avalanche with the 8.1- had a huge OEM thing- 2 in 2 out pipes and went custom bent out each side- it was great nice rumble. A little freer breathing at 4000 rpm. Probably 5 hpgain.
