2009 Headlight Swap

Hey guys!

 

New to the forums, but definitely not to GMC trucks

 

Just picked up an 09 Sierra at the beginning of the June, ending a 2 year wrenching period on a Grand Cherokee. Never been so happy in my life!

 

Either way, wondering if anybody knows if I can swap in the newer OEM projector headlights onto my 09? I love the way they look, and I tend to shy away from aftermarket headlights... Bad experiences in the past. I haven't looked into this much yet, but hoping somebody on here might have some knowledge offhand.

If you are referring to the '14-'15 Sierra 1500 lamps, no. The lights are much different shaped and will not fit. I have used them on a friends '14, and the ones you have work better! The headlights on the newer trucks were a step backward!

I assumed the 14-15 lights wouldn't work, didn't know if they had anything similar prior to that.

 

I definitely love the visibility with these! That's why I'm hesitant on aftermarket anything as far as headlights go. Look cool, sure. But hard to beat the output on these lights!

Here is a aftermarket sight, that may help you out, just remember to put a bead of clear silicone sealer around the headlights where the lens meets the housing.
