DejaVu Posted April 15, 2003 Posted April 15, 2003 What size is the stock Altinator on a 2000 5.3L Silverado Z-71?
RyanbabZ71 Posted April 15, 2003 Posted April 15, 2003 check your glovebox for the RPO code below to make sure but mine was a 105A K68 Alternator, 105 AMP.
DejaVu Posted April 15, 2003 Author Posted April 15, 2003 Thanks, I did check the RPO code and it is the same as yours. I was just wondering because I have a CB and wanting to replace my linear amp with a bigger one that draws 57 amps max.
RyanbabZ71 Posted April 15, 2003 Posted April 15, 2003 No problem. Only reason I know is because I recently changed my serpetine belt and needed to know what I had to buy the right belt
GF7PE Posted April 15, 2003 Posted April 15, 2003 fyi most gm alternators have the amperage on the alternator. Have a 200 amp powermaster if anyone is interested
Wingnut Posted April 15, 2003 Posted April 15, 2003 fyi most gm alternators have the amperage on the alternator. Have a 200 amp powermaster if anyone is interested I may be interested....How proud of it are you?
GF7PE Posted April 15, 2003 Posted April 15, 2003 very. just not right for my application. I need the amperage at idle (550-650) this one likes 750 and up, I also need one that likes to rev over 6000 rpm all the time but this one likes 5800 and lower
Tucson_02Silverado Posted April 15, 2003 Posted April 15, 2003 >>>>edit>>>> Okay, it helps if I read and comprehend as well. The powermaster 200 should be able to do at least 100amps at idle hot. I don't have his email or number, there is someone by the name of Dominick that builds quality high amp alternators. Search for Dominick and alternator in the forums <<<<<<<end edit<<<<<< 650 AMPS??? You need an AC generator instead. Then attach your DC converter power supplies to it.
charles s Posted July 19, 2003 Posted July 19, 2003 Err, does anybody know the amperage rating of a 1995 GMC Sierra 1500 ? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I am asking for a friend
