GMC Sierra Grille letter inserts

I decided to change the red gmc letters on the front grille to summit white. they are painted billet letters...

 

Before:

 

Next, you need to take a template provided by the lettering company and tape it over the logo. It shows where to drill into the emblem (six spots) where there are plastic rivets that are holding the letters onto the chrome lettering outline. You need to drill slowly and not press too hard and you will feel when you finally drill through the plastic rivet into the hole/opening of the chrome surround....I only had to drill out a couple of the rivets before the rest of the rivets snapped/fell right out... chrome surround below after removal of letters...you can see the remnant of one or two of the plastic rivets sitting in the hole of the letter C. You need to make sure the surface is flush as the new letters have 3M tape and need to sit flat...
