Extra Electrical Connectors Behind Radio Bezel

Recommended Posts

Posted

I pulled the radio bezel off today and noticed that on both sides (left and right) there is an electrical connector plugged into the bezel, but there is nothing on the other side. What is this for? It looks like it would be where the heated seat buttons would be, but I don't have heated seats.

If it is for the heated seats, is it possible to add the buttons and heating elements to get this feature. It is really strange that the connectors are just plugged into the plastic and don't do anything.

Then they're likely for seat-heater switches.

Each truck sold should have the same wiring harness for all options available. May not have the software required or other parts for each option though, but would cost way to much to have specific wiring harnesses for each trim level as there are just to many variables.

Yes this is how GM is able to mass produce faster and less expensive.

The cost to run a separate tooling and production line(or shift) to make a different harness is usually added cost.

Although most import manufacturers have a vehicle specific harness with no extras. No sure of other domestics
