Level kit

Hey all

So there are a million posts on level kits and so many opinions. Sorry to admit I stopped reading after a couple hundred.

I'd love some thoughts hopefully through experience. I have a 14 Sierra SLT crew with z71. I want to level with a kit that lasts and will not impact ride quality. (Rarely off-road). I've spoke to several shops and am down to the rough country or bilsteins. I don't mind spending the extra few bucks if the long term result is positive. I do plan up upgrading tires to BF KO2 AT after level. I do not want to lift so will be doing front only level.

Advantages/disadvantages to either?

I just put the bilsteins on all 4 and am very happy with the improved ride quality.

The fronts are set up at the highest setting but the truck is not quute level. It raises the truck by 1.8in where 2in would be level.

I don't blame you a bit, those huge ass threads that you can't follow at all is an epic fail.

Throw a RC level on it and forget it. Putting a longer strut on it absolutely does nothing to help with premature wear .

You do get a better strut with a lift built into it at a higher cost to you.

So there you go... That's it in a nutshell.

I have the readylift 1.5 and i am very happy with it. Had the rc 2 on my 13. It was good and very affordable but i like the added security of the top strut spacer vs the lower strut spacer. 2 inch and lower is safe on these trucks but will increase wear on itmes. It can not be avoided. Also the ride will change slightly. Only because you have shifted the weight bias slightly to the rear effectively making the front springs a little stiffer since less weight in them. I like that personally as it was a little soft to begin with. Also helps get rid of a little nose dive under braking.

Upper strut vs lower strut is up to you. They do the same thing.

Yup, they're all basically the same so whichever you can get a deal on.

I'm so glad he posted this lol its such a headache going thru everything.. So putting a leveling kit on will increase wear on things? I've been in a debate getting one due to warranty worry.. My dealership said it wouldn't be voided since there won't be wear and tear on it and it's not suspension but I'm still a little skeptical

It will but you can keep it to a minimum by staying at 2 inch or less.
