99 Silverado pcm swap

Hey guys, I have a 99 5.3 and I was wanting to swap the pcm to an 02 because I have heard the problems with false knock have been corrected. So can I just get an 02 pcm off the internet plug it into my truck do the security relearn and be good to go? I am also going to get a black bear tune some time in the near future and have heard that the 02 pcm is better to tune than the 99 which is another reason I want to do the swap.

The thing is a lot of 2002 - 411 pcms may not have a 5.3 tune on it.

Every time we see some one say its a 5.3 tune in a pcm its not.

If it doesn't have a 5.3 tune on it that will cost you more money

I wouldn't mess with it if its running good.

The thing is that it's not running too good. It struggles badly towing my boat which weights about 3500 pounds up hills at 60 mph. It normally has to jump into second gear and rev to 4000 and I have to keep it floored to get to the top of the hill. I really honestly just need more power. My dad has and 06 Titan and It hardly even cares that the boats back there.
