Truck was shot at by bb gun over labor day weekend

So my wife and I and our 4 year old daughter were on our way home Sunday evening after spending the day at a family cookout. We were about 3 miles from being home when suddenly a loud POP! We looked around and there was a crack in the windshield behind the mirror. There was nothing in front of us besides the traffic coming the other direction. I didn't see it but my wife said she saw someone with a long object pointed out the window towards us from the on-coming traffic (it was 9pm so it wasn't the best visibility). So when we arrived at home after inspecting the window, I believe she was right and our insurance company also believes it looks like a bb impact.

Thank you! And the insurance is covering it 100%. I just hate that it happened and that I have no idea who did it or why on earth they would do that.

The great thought to take away here is that no one was hurt/injured.

It really is a shame this type of behavior continues. What happened to respecting another person's property?

On the nightly news it was reported someone in the Phoenix area is shooting at passing vehicles on a highway. At least no one was seriously hurt - so far.

Once again glad no one was hurt.

...isn't that something you would expect.... too many idio.ts with too many possibilities to get guns, having too much time and just like to shoot for no reason...?

And no, I'm not against guns / weapons. But when I read stories like that it gives me the creeps.

Many commercial vehicles are equipping dash cams now. I been thinking of getting one for while. Lack of police. Recklessness is everywhere on the roads.

I'd definitely notify the police. A BB could easily kill somebody in that situation - cause an accident, motorcyclist, etc.

I totally agree. And looking back on this, I probably should have called the police. At the time I was thinking it probably wouldn't do any good, but I think it may have been good to let them know someone is out there doing this. And I live in middle Tennessee.

Just a shot in the dark here but is it possible your aim is off and it's blinding oncoming traffic? Not suggesting shooting your windshield is an appropriate response but knowing some people maybe that's their way of trying to tell you something.

Random act has just as good a chance too I'd guess.
