Gauge cluster gone bad?

I'm doing some more research on my truck with the low oil pressure issue and am curious to know if a faulty cluster will trigger the low oil pressure alarms and what would be the best way to find this out. Also would it be better to have the current cluster repaired or replaced depending on whether or not the cluster is the culprit?

2005 2500 gmc had same issue. we replaced the oil pressure sending unit no change. I remove his dash and replaced all the gauge pods as this is a common problem. it is not that hard to do. u can find the pod kits on ebay. comes with instructions, you need to have a soldering iron. his truck has been problem free since
