First "sorry for posting another Tired thread that's probably been answered " but I'm new to the site and don't know how to use the search menu well... now to the topic I just got got my first truck and I already need tires I'm mostly on the freeway 80 miles a day and probably more occasionally I know I do 25000 to 30000 miles a year I don't tow (yet)... the reason I started this topic is cause my uncle has a 6 inch lift and 33"s on his truck but I noticed his tires are extremely meaty tires and wondering if I should get some more less style since his have lasted him almost 5 years and he does all highway miles but his drive is 60 miles a day he owns a 2005 Silverado double cab regular v8 his tire brand is bf Goodrich he said he didn't see much of a change in his fuel economy so im stuck trying to figure out which tires to get I seen Sams club has the BF Goodrich All-Terrain TA KO2 LT265/70R17/E 121S for $215 each and there meaty ass tires or getting the Michelin LTX M/S2 - LT265/70R17/E 121/118R for $230 but they didn't seem as meaty I just need something im not going to be switching out in 1 1/2 years but I don't want my fuel economy to take a shit either since im not made out of money your help is choosing and telling me the cons for each is much appreciated

I run 255/75/17 Goodyear Duratracs, MPGs still good and they ride really well.

You can't go wrong with BFG KO2 for performance, a neighbor here have them just a little annoyed with road noise as his wife is sound sensitive. Cooper Discoverer are excellent too and wears good for less. Just perfect time to get them as some good retailers like DiscountTire.com, 4Wheelonline.com, tirerack run some sale and rebate on these tires.

I am shopping for the 255/75/17 size also. I have chosen the firestone destination AT. This is the highest rated tire on tirerack.com and most places online. I have them on my wrangler and they are very grippy in all conditions, yet they are quiet, comfortable and wear pretty well also. If you want a slightly less aggressive, more highway type tire, the goodyear wrangler SR-A should be a good choice.
