benjaminforeal Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 I know there are a few places making supercharger kits for the 5.3 and 6.2's. But has anyone fabbed up a turbo on their 6.2? I would love to do something a few years down the road to my '15 Silverado, but would like to get some insight on the build and if it is even possible with the direct injection. Pics, videos, links, etc appreciated!
silveradosid Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 it is actually better to have direct injection, all diesel engines have direct injection. that being said , the hardest part of turbo charging is to get the right air fuel ratio. without direct injection this was a difficult task to accomplish. now with direct injection it is a matter of finding the right intake manifold sensor to cover the range of vacuum to boosting. this is easy on a diesel because there is no throttle plate to cause a vacuum in the intake that a gas engine has. I have spent years modifying cummins and Detroit diesel engine with egr problems
