I installed a set of Westin Sure-Grip running boards on my Crew Cab, black composite boards with rubber top pad and brackets that use the factory mounting holes on the truck.

Very satisfied with the product, look, functionality and low-maintenance care.

Reasonably priced as well, actually purchased off of eBay.

you might want to check out a company called iBoards, they make their running boards in a 3/4/5" width and are made from aircraft grade aluminum. I had them on my 2009 GMC Sierra and loved them, plus they are below $200 in price
