90 second oil change

If this becomes mainstream it will be interesting to see how much it adds to the cost of the vehicles. I like the idea but don't see it happening.

There is not enough information to analyze. If I could speculate, this sounded like an electric-powered dry-sump system. If this was true, I'm all about dry-sump, but dislike the electric side of it.

I would think this would have to be a dry sump. Otherwise you couldn't get all the oil out of the engine to do a complete oil change. I could see it do well if the cost was low and the manufactures are willing to implement it.

 

Talk about lazy oil changes. Just pop the hood, pull out old container and install new fresh oil container with oil of your choice and drive. This would be great especially if the oil filter was built into the container as well.

I can see our nanny government mandating this within a few years. It's a simple idea really. There could be advantages. I do like the idea in theory.

What about when I'm burning oil and can't top off my oil, I know I shouldn't have to but the reality is that some cars do at some point in their life
