Trans cooler mounting question

My factory lines and hard lines. They have a fuel line style clip on them.

I wanted to do a oil cooler also but could not find any oil output or input on the block. Didn't really dig deep into it.

They make a nipple that goes from the factory quick connects to a hose barb, I actually bought two; one was a Derale.

If it is a gas engine, it is by the oil filter.

Yea it's the 6.0. I'm doing a oil change in a few days I'll have to look for it. Thanks.

Great that adapter is what I need. I'll probably just do all black AN lines.

You can do solid runs so the only crimps are at the fittings. No metal to rubber. Take your measurements, go to a local hydraulic shop and have them made or order them. For my particular cooler I needed 2 ea. female -12 to male -6 AN adapters and 1 ea 1/2" NPT plug. On the tranny, the 4L60E took what I believe is a 1/4" NPT male to -6 AN male adapter. needed 2 of them. I do not remember what adapter for the radiator.

Got around to installing the replacement cooler today (Long LPD 28k gvw). It is a lot heavier, thicker, and just overall better built than the flexilite.

I used two pieces of flat aluminum strap to span from the right grill support to the center grill support. These are the supports that the grill snaps into. Had to put slight bends in the ends to hook in nice, essentially made zee bars. They ended up almost exactly the correct width, within 1/8", and made for a nice ridged mount.

My hoses were already long enough. Took about three hours overall from start to test drive. Initial impression, temps topped out at 118*F with ambient air temps around 60*F. That's probably a 20*F drop over the Flexilite. The one thing I noticed is that the temperature fluctuates more than previously.

Question. What is the preset thermostat in the trans? I know the torque converter won't lock until it's 70*F. The reason I ask is that I get about 120*F regardless of the ambient air temperature until it gets over 70*F, then it gets to about 130-135*F...

Towing around 5000#s, I topped out at 145F with temps near 60F and pulling in the mountains (of Pennsylvania). That was a 300ish mile trip. I'm pleased with that....

Where did you find the fittings from? I have the 6l90 and cant seem to find the fitting size. I found a cooler with an fittings, so I would just need to have a an line made to length then get the right adapters.
