Aftermarket system in '03?

Has anyone installed an aftermarket system in a 2003 Silverado? I got a great deal on a new Sony CDX-M730 and I want to install it without voiding warranty, etc.

Is there some good gouge online on how to do this? I don't have onstar or the "Bose" system to worry about. Are my stock speakers any good? I don't care about the RDs or the traffic channels, etc, just want some good tunes.

Good!  I got the BOSE, not my choice-had to take what was on dealer's lot to get good financing.  I don't like it at all, my old Pioneer and Sony Xplods rocked.

Anyway, since you don't want to void the warranty, you need an adapter to splice into the vehicle's harness.  The chimes you hear come through the radio speakers, and to keep your truck happy it still needs to do that.  Go to JP Customs and look for an adapter, should be under Stereos (site's not loading right now).  Also, since the truck radio openings are really big, head over to Crutchfield and get their number and ask how much an installation kit would be.  You also can get the adapter that JPCustoms has, but see who's cheaper.

Ditch the factory speakers.  They're horrible.  Go spend some $$ and get some nice aftermarket speakers.  You'll be much happier.  That should get you started.
