Transfer case complete rebuild or not??

So since my front output shaft on my np246 tcase needs to be replaced because the spline is getting wallowed out, wanted everyone's opinion. Should I do a complete rebuild with new clutch plates or should I just do bearings and seals, and maybe the chain also. I don't seem to have the infamous hole from pump rub yet but I do want to prevent it. This would be my first attempt at repairing anything to do with drivetrain. But it looks easy after watch some videos.

Me personally I would do a full tear down and rebuild or replace it all together. The t-case that was on my truck had so many issues that were known and who knows how many unknowns that I just replaced it as an assembly. For you, you will have to price it out once you get it apart to see which way would be more cost effective.

Well I think I'm going to buy a bearing kit and the case saver plate and go from there. I'm not sure if my tcase has ever been replaced before I bought the truck considering the mileage. I would just buy rebuilt but I don't have an extra $1000 laying around. If my front driveshaft wasn't clunking around in my front output shaft I wouldn't even be thinking about tearing apart since it functions fine.
