so, it looks like i need to replace front rotors because front shuttes while braking hard and the rear rotors I noticed 1 is scored pretty bad on 1 side. truck has 55k miles on it.

Question is:

what brand rotors/pads do you guys recommend?

do you go slotted/drilled or neither?

thanks

I prefer a FULL cermaic pad, I use C-max , autozone. ( They will try to sell you a semi ceramic, you MUST insist on Cmax or the Gold ones) May want to ENSURE the slider mounts for the calipers are working and lubed. If not that will wear pads and rotors faster. I have seen many sliders NOT working on these trucks.post-142629-0-47038300-1444801184.jpg

Easy, the caliper bolts to them , they move in and out in the bracket that bolts to the spindle/axle. They will have a rubber boot.. They must move in and out freely to allow even pressure on the rotor and better braking. I have usedlithium grease inside these. Some are so rusting they require force to get them out. Remove the bracket to get the rotor off, may as well put the bracket in a Vise and get those sliders working well. Also I grind the tabs on the pad ends to they slide in their spring clips properly.
