$1500 Private Offer Tips

Any tips on getting a $1500 Private Offer to pop up would be appreciated. When I bought my 2014 back in September 2013, they sent me a $1500 Private Offer in the mail. My daughter has decided that she wants a full size 2015 Silverado or Sierra, but we cannot get a private offer to pop up after several days of trying. Maybe we are in the wrong zip codes for this to happen, but we would appreciate any of the latest tips in getting one to pop up.

Maybe they are not offering them at this time, but would appreciate feedback from anyone who has been successful within the last week or two. What browser and the zip code where doing the search would also be helpful to know if they are being offered in our Region of Michigan and Northern Indiana. We have tried my zip code in Central Michigan, and hers within spitting distance of the Indiana line. No joy yet, and she wants to buy before the end of November. We have dumped our cookies, and tried on both the GMC and Chevy build/price/locate.

What is the exact page you guys are getting them to pop up on, Chevy or GMC.

Thanks for any information.

I got mine on the Chevy build site. It took a few weeks and literally hundreds and hundred refreshes.

Been there on the hundreds of refreshes. Did you also have to spill your cookies each time? I've had several offers for quotes pop up, but no Private Offer.

Guess I'll just keep trying, but am now starting to wonder if it's worth the aggravation. :sigh:

I got on a new computer that had never been to the Chevy website and it popped right up. I tried and tried back in may when I bought my truck with no luck...but now I have it. Oh well.

Has anyone received one for GMC? Specifically 2016 Sierra? Or even the 2015? I can get the Chevrolet one to pop up, but don't know if GMC even offers one at all.

I got one for a 2015 Sierra, and I was able to use it on the purchase of a Denali. I got it by clearing all cookies and doing refreshes on the main Sierra information page, not on the build page. This was about 2 weeks ago; definitely in October.

Here's the verbiage. Not sure what "other offers" it's not available with:

  • $500 allowance on eligible Cruze, Spark, Sonic, Trax models
  • $1000 alowance on eligible Malibu, Equinox, Express, Impala, Camaro, City Express, Volt, SS Sedan models
  • $1500 allowance on eligible Suburban, Traverse, Tahoe, Silverado Models

1. Authorization code may be transferred to an individual residing in the same household (must show proof of same address) as the eligible recipient noted on this offer. Valid authorization code is required. Offer is non-negotiable and not redeemable for cash. Only one authorization code may be used per eligible transaction, and each authorization code may be used only once. Not available with some other offers. Take delivery from 10/1/15 through 11/2/15. See dealer for details. Dealer Instructions: Program Code 16-40CF.

Are you able to use the $1500 on top of other incentives?

I was NOT able to use the $750 credit union rebate after adding the Private Offer. The other $3,500 was still good. I received a total of $5,000 in rebates.

I wish I could get one of these it would seal the deal for mine! I got one when I bought my Silverado but can't seem to get it for a GMC

Same here. I've even set up an auto refresh app on every one of the sites people list for GMC with hundreds of refreshes at this point (every 20 seconds), and have tried 3 separate browsers on each of the 3 separate PCs I've used and no luck on any of them. Chevrolet, it pops right up. GMC; not so much.

    • Looks like the entire state is burning. 😬
    • Through the years it hasn't been my typical method as I tried to drop oil on an engine that was hot from having been worked, however that was not always practical and had to fire up a unit and let it warm up reasonably well and drop the oil when I had the time to do it but am referring to not only vehicles but a variety of farm equipment and highway tractors etc. However on a vehicle where one is crawling under it and the exhaust is nearby to ones body and if wanting to pull the plug without danger of being hit with boiling hot oil or attempting to remove a HOT oil filter, its sure safer and easier to not have everything smoking hot and can remove the filter right away when under the vehicle and let it all drain. Of course its not the end of the world if a bit of oil stays in the engine that might have eventually found its way out, I like to get out as much as possible but any oil changes that take place in shops would rarely be sitting around for very long at all before the plug is thrown back in and filter slapped on and oil poured in and sent out the door quick like. There would be very little time spent ( assuming they even did it ) in starting the engine with oil to fill the filter, then waiting to verify the level on the stick. A good reason to check ones oil level shortly after a shop changed the oil on a vehicle just to make sure its correct and to look under for any oil around the drain plug or filter.
    • Cool to see another Vermonter!
    • I have changed oil and filter for years by starting a cold engine to warm oil up, let it run 5-10 minutes depending on temperature. Drain until it starts dripping, refill with quantity from owners manual or get it close.
