Remote started my 08 silverado this morning and did a coffee run.An hour later, Went to remote start for trip to work and lights just flashed but did not start. Went out and turned the key and no start. All dash lights lit but no rumble. Went to the garage to get boosters cables and sat in truck put key in to put in neutral to push to open space to allow booster car in front and boom it started !

 

Any ideas?

Could it be the security system thought you were trying to steal the truck? Did you get a new ignition key recently?

But just bought truck last week

Sometimes my 08 Sierra will not remote start. It will flash the lights then start then immediately shutdown. Have to start it by the key to get it to remote start again. No clue why it does this. But does this only every once in a while.

I need to get another key cut at the dealer so I will ask what they think. If this strands me when I am out of town, in the middle of no where, could be a major nightmare.
