Tire Dressing

What kind of tire dressing is everyone using? I have been using the Meguiars gel (purple) stuff that lasts about week. Lately I have noticed that the tires are throwing small black bits of the this stuff down the side of my Lt Pewter truck. I'd like to use something that sticks better, but lasts a good while.

I have also noticed that when I have mixed my tire products, the result has been a gummed up mess on my tires. I believe it is best to start with one and only use one product.

I use Black Magic Wet/Tire, it's made by Blue Coral and comes in a spray can. Just keep a clean dry cloth handy to remove overspray on the rims.  Try using Westly's Bleach White to clean off the black gummed up mess that's being thrown up on your truck. If you have white wall or raised white letter tires DO NOT USE or it will remove the white wall/letters from the tires.

I use the black magic spray foam stuff as well, goes on in seconds and it looks great.

I also use a white paint marker to touch up my raised white lettering.  Try it, it makes the tires look a lot nicer.  It takes a while to do, but it lasts a few months and the brighter white on the letters make the tires look brand new.

I've been using Westley's Bleche-White on both white walls and raised white lettering. Sounds like I should cease and desist.

After cleaning I use Black Magic Tire Wet.

Have tried many many tire dressings in the last few years.  Recently I've been using No Touch's aerosol that goes on as a liquid vs. a foam.  It works great, doesn't stain the driveway, and doesn't leave a mess on the rims.  Other than that, Eagle 1 or Formula 2001 sprays work well for me.  I've also used gels previously, but it takes forever and a day to work them around/between the letters.

I also have been using the Westley's to clean my tires.  Perhaps it's time to try something new, suggestions?  Simple green?

One product that seemed to work for me was some Blue Coral Tire and Wheel Cleaner. It didn't work that well on my wheels, but when I sprayed it onto my tires and then scrubbed with a tire brush it cleaned the white letters up real nice. Removed that brown brake dust that accumultes on the tire as well  :thumb: But, it takes a lot of scrubbing, maybe more than one application to do it right. I was going to try Bleech-wite, but not any more. Tennis elbow, here I come.  :banghead:

Afterwards, I followed it up with some Armor-all tire protectant. It looked really good, for a day or so. It's probably time to try something else.
