2016 Sierra Max Tow (with Bilsteins)

I'm pretty sure I'm going the route of the max tow package on a 2016 sierra sle 1500, but I want to make sure I won't have any issues with the mods I'd like to make. Is there any issue putting those Bilstein 5100 ride height adjustables (at 1.8") on the front of a max tow equipped truck? I ask because I wasn't sure if GM changes something with the front suspension. I know the rear shocks are supposed to be a bit different, but not the front? If the shocks are 'normal' in the front.....I'm going to install the bilsteins. In addition to that, hopefully the 15 are the same as the 16 so (if this is ok) I can get parts soon vs bilstein developing a new ride height adjustable shock.

Some background......I've had a few GM 1/2 tons with these Bilstein adjustable shocks and I like them more than stock shocks for sure....and the height sure doesn't hurt either! Just want to make sure I'm not missing anything here.

Thanks in advance.

the biggest issue I had with the original ride quality of my 14 max tow was that the front end was real floaty while the rear end was planted. I had the 5100s installed and the ride unloaded was way too firm (the truck would shudder on hard bumps) for my taste but the body motions were very well controlled. Maybe it would ride better on 18" wheels...

I've heard the same thing from several people (the floaty part). I'm hoping the Bilsteins won't bother me that much. I currently run them now and they are definitely a bit stiffer, but fine for me. So over the years, I keep adding to my 1/2 tons in terms of suspension modifications / trailering modification to make the truck handle better and ultimately safer. With all that said, my next truck will most likely be my last 1/2....my next step up will be a 3/4 ton. This half will get air bags in the back in addition to having the max tow package and bilsteins in the front. This might just work perfectly for me. hopefully. thanks for the input

Yeah I already upgraded to 3/4 duramax. Much better ride IMO. Best of luck.
