Thats the best sounding exhaust Ive heard. Good vids too. Curious why you replaced all the piping, isnt stock size 3 inch? Noticed muffler you posted was 3.5 in/out and tip was 3?

thanks... it's sounds way better in person.. reason 8 replaced tubing cause I just wanted to and the piping I found was mandrel bent.. so yes 3.5 from muffler then 3 inch to valve all the way to the tips.. I have the valve open rite now. I highly recommend this set up to everyone.

What did you pay for that muffler if you dont mind me asking?

I found it but pricey... http://www.amazon.com/Borla-40722-Stainless-Multicore-Mufflers/dp/B0060EIDEK

Found the 3" version of the same muffler which I believe is the stock 5.3 exhaust piping size.

Apparently the multi-core are a bit pricier than the sportsman XR1's. And did a little homework and wanted to share. From another board after a member called Borla.

1. The difference between round and oval mufflers is based around what you can fit, also a round muffler may be a little louder.

2. case size will determine how quiet the muffler is. The general rule is the longer the case size, the quieter the exhaust will be.

3. Multicore’s hence the name have multiple cores and are designed for large racing engines that need to be as quiet as possible without losing performance. Sportsmans are a single core muffler and will be more aggressive than the multicore.

I bought my muffler from summit 278.99 and I picked that muffler because it was 3.5 inlet and oulet. And it was close to the same length as the stock muffler...

Did you remove resonator or keep it with valve clamped open. That sucker sounds great I may get one for my 5.3

Resonator gone and valve left alone
