So does anyone had any first hand experience with a warranty claim and a tuner/ tune installed? I have read through many threads and haven't found anyone who has had a problem with. I hear the diablo intune doesnt leave any traces except for a timestamp in the ecm, which means the dealer could tell if they tried hard enough. I just ordered my diablo at 4000 miles. Warranty will probably be out the window. Fingers crossed i dont have any issues.

On my 2010 I had an oil cooler line leak on mine. Wasnt affected due to the tune so it was never questioned or brought up.

Now if your engine or trans blows up I am sure they would be investigating as to possible reasons

Your warranty is only out the window if something breaks, and they can PROVE without a doubt it was the fault of the tuner that caused the issue.

In a perfect world yeah I know that is the Magnuson-Moss act right. Real world your going to be in the hands of the service guy at your dealer and his mood that day somewhat. They could tell you to pound sand we saw X and you would have to fight it which would cost more than most repairs. I wont be testing this. At 101k miles/5 years and 1 day Ill be adding headers and a tune though haha.

Magnuson-Moss act will not do anything for you without the help of an attorney at $90-300 an hour and with a $5,000 retainer and then only after 2 failed arbitrations.

When you go to arbitration, the Administrative Law Judge will always rule with the Federal Emissions Guidelines on modifications which state all software has to be approved.

GM has over 800 attorneys on staff, try to fight them. My Son-in-law is one of them.

The first thing they will get you on is unapproved modifications of an emissions device(PCM).

If you think they won't find evidence of a current or prior tune, you are so wrong.

If a Tuner company says the tune cannot be seen(ala void warranty), ask them to back that up with a guarantee in writing.

You will not find any takers.

I went through this with a Corvette and lost.

But, luckily my issue was a common problem and in the end GM repaired it and then voided my entire powertrain warranty.
