Spanked a 03 F250 with a 6.0 in it..lol

Well it finaly happened today. I am sitting at a redlight at lunch and here rolls a new solid red f250 4x4 diesel up next to me. I look over at him and looks back and smiles....I think dude you are about to make a big mistake. He jumps it a little at me and I begin to laugh and give him a little jump back. I look over and pointed to the light and he nodded yea...

Light turns green and he is on the floor, I let the brake loose and ran away from him. We get to the next light and he pulls up behind me blowing his horn, I leaned out the window and he asked me to pull over so we could talk. It turns out the truck had a dealer tag on it and he was out for a test drive. It was the new 6.0 in it and he was almost sick about the way I spanked him.

He looked at my truck and I took him down the road for a quick spin. Dead stopped it for him and left with about 8lbs of boost and it blew the tires away into drive where I let off of it. I told him I had tuned it some and for less than $400 his would run the same way if bought one of these. He said he was taking the powerchoke back and was heading to the GM dealer.....

Thought I would share......

That's a great kill.  A guy on a test drive.

So what "tuning" have you done on your '03?  Have you found that when it was stock you had to put your foot into it before she really starts moving?  I don't know if I'm too fond of this throttle by wire yet.  Seems as if there isn't much response until you're over 1/2 throttle.  Maybe I'm just not used to the diesel, but it'd be nice if there was more to work with further up on the pedal although it's fun to "mat it" also.

I bought the Hypertech programmer for my truck. i looked at allot of diffrent chips and the best bang for the buck is the Hypertech. Has 3 hp setting 30-50-96...Nothing to show it is there as you load the program and put it away.

The best part is that www.truckaddons.com sells them for $307 shipped. Model number is #30021 for our Diesels. World of diffrence. If you ever have to take the truck in for service all you do is load the stock program back on it. Takes a wopping 2 minutes at most. There are other mods on the truck like a K&N filter and I will be adding the true 4" performance exhaust this month. Then it is onto a 6" Pro Comp Lift with weld beedlocks and som 315 radials...Maybe I will done for a while then....Maybe.

Did you look at the Predator programmer that just came out?  I believe it has 5 levels of tuning and also has options to remove the speed limiter and make adjustments for tire/axle changes.

Anyway, it's tough to decide with all the options out there.  The Edge Juice Box is a strong add-on as well but a little more spendy.  They are coming out with a new in-cab controller/information module that should be pretty cool as well.

Sounds like you've got a nice set-up.  My truck has under 600 miles on it, so I'm not in any hurry for mods....yet!

I looked at the Predator but for $600 it is not worth it to me. I am not going to drag race my truck for real and they had nothing for the allison transmission on there chip. I looked at it and the Juice and for $307 I have a stout fun truck and almost enough money left over to get my exhaust.

My truck has 1602 miles on it this morning and I love it. Great truck with plenty of power and it has not broke my wallet ....yet! The juice box is nice and very expensive and also stays connected to the truck, with the hypertech you just select what stage you want and say yes...1 minute later your done and go drive...to easy! The Hypertech aslo recalibrates the gauges and transmission shift points for tires from stock 24" to 38".

WHat did you expect... Those Ford diesels are slow, doc!  My mom has one.  Lots of torque but lack of acceleration.  Extremely nice trucks though, in my opinion.  But definitely not speed demons.  THe gas versions though, I don't know about...

my dad just recently baught one of those new 03 ford 6.0 powerstrokes and i dont care what anyone says that truck will beat any heavy duty stock truck you put against it. his is stock and he left about a 20 foot solid black mark in the road near my house. one of our good friends has a 2500 HD duramax with the allison trany in it and we toook them to a street that alota people race on near our house and the 6.0 beat the duramax be a lil over a second.... :withstupid:
