Squeaky lumbar

My lumbar support is squeaky, When I go over bumps and stuff or anytime I apply more or less pressure back there it sounds like a niosy spring. Has anyone had this prob? Can the seat cover be renoved easily? I would like to clean it up and possibly lube it.

Had the same thing took it to the dealer they did something now it's not bad. Just now sounds like a #### frog when I lean on it hard sometimes. Ribbit!

Mine does when I lean on it in a certain way (most ways actually). I have learned to turn the radio up. Dealer trips are not worth the aggravation for such a petty issue. I'll wait for a bigger problem.

Yea, my seatback does the same thing. It feels like the springs in the seatback are loose and are going to come right through the seat. Everytime I move in the seat or go around a corner the seatback makes noise. Feels like a very cheap seat for a $30,000+ truck. Only complaint in the new GMC so far.

I am VERY interested to hear how this goes as I've been considering the same course of action. I really don't know how hard it will be to get that cover off though.

Well, The removal of the seat cover started out well enough but I ran into a snag trying to remove the arm rest, I cannot for the life of me figure it out. There is a small (1/4") hole in the rear of it, i'm sure this is for screw driver of some sort to enter and loosen it from the seat? I do not know if it is "allen", "phillips" or what. I have not given up and had some "honey-do's" so I had to stop for now. I'll keep you all posted.

Do you have bucket seats with the built in armrests? I have the split bench. How does the cover start to come off? I see that it's attached under the seat with a plastic piece but I'm not sure how it's supposed to come apart.

I have bucket or captin chairs or whatever there called. It sounds like you have the same plastic piece I have on mine. The plastic piece is two "c chanels". I started to spread them apart at one end with a screwdriver and they just pulled rite appart. Then there is some push pins and velcro in a few places. Today was not a good day to start this project as I was promptly reminded that it was "Mothers Day". I will try to continue soon. I have taken pictures and will post them when i'm finnished.

Well, this one seems to have died off so I'll bring you to speed with my truck. Dealer looked at it. Service writer claimed she couldn't hear anything wrong. Service tech said it was normal. (Blood pressure rising now). Guy who sold me the truck happened to be walking by so I tell him why I am here,he says "Whoa, I can hear it from here (he was standing outside the truck)!". Service manager said it was a cracked seat frame and he ordered a new one. Soooo, right now I am waiting for the part to come in.

God I hate dealers

I have let this project fall on the back burner but I'm now ready to tackle it again. I picked up a "exploded view" of the seat from the dealer and found that the arm rest is held on by a "C-clip", looks prety difacult to get to but "I'm going in" !

I'll keep you posted, I hope my seat bracket is not broken.
