Bad parking brake.

I have a '01 Silverado 1500, and the parking brake goes right to the floorboard. How do it fix it?

You will have to go to the rear wheels. If you have disc brakes in the rear there are brake shoes under your rotor that will need to be adjusted. If you have drum brakes, the brake shoes under the drum, they also would need to be adjusted. Easiest way I know is to pull the drum/rotor, adjust the shoes until the lightly drag on the drum/rotor when you reinstall it.

I have disc so how do I adjust the shoes?

There are two ways, one way is to pull the little rubber boot from the inside of the wheel area. Then have to get a small flat screwdriver and get in there and adjust the star wheel adjuster. I'm not sure which way it need to spin to adjust the shoes outward. The second way, my preferred way, is the pull the rotor off and adjust from the outside. Then I can see and feel the adjustment as it happens.
