HID Fail :(

Hi all, I got my sis an HID kit for Christmas, and am having the most difficult time trying to get both headlights to fire up. I've installed a few of these kits in prior vehicles we've owned, and haven't had a problem like this before - I've swapped all components to each side and verified it's the truck and not the HID kit... I'm using the Xtreme HID kit from XenonDepot with the CanBus.

Any help is greatly appreciated, I'm only in town for a couple days and will have to put the stock equipment back in if I can't get it straightened out :/

Thank you!

- Jason

Oops also - its a '15 Silverado w/ the 5.5L engine

Ugh as an aside - I also started the truck without plugging the MAF sensor back in - which has now triggered the check engine light - is there an easy way to reset this?

Not sure on the HID part, but for the maf, I would plug it back in, unplug the batter for 5 minutes to reset the computer, then reconnect and start the truck. The computer should reset itself and clear the check engine light. Unplugging the battery probably isn't needed, but it's a simple step and could help speed up the process of clearing the light.

30+ key cycles will reset it as will driving it for a couple days.

Try using a HID relay wiring hardness, it will connect straight to the battery and use battery power to power the HIDs, and plug into the headlight wiring harness to use the headlight on/off power to turn on and off the relay

Check the polarity of the wiring. You may need to switch the wires on the side that's not working. I ran into this problem when I installed HID lights. A normal light bulb does not care what pin is hot and what one is ground, The HID ballast does.

Flip the connections around so red goes to black and black goes to red. I had the same issue with mine and that did the trick

Relay harness for sure. Installed their kit last week and even at night with low beams the HIDs were on for a few seconds then off. Installed a relay harness and problem was solved.

I probably should have mentioned, i have a canbus ballast and warning canceller kit. Cost me 80 bucks and havent had any issues since flipping the connection. I don't have a relay harness either
