4X4 problems

Hi everyone I am having problems getting into 4 wheel drive. My service 4x4 light is on constantly.I have put in a new selector switch and a new encoder motor but it still wont go into 4x4 Is there anything else I should look at? Truck is 2003 Sierra 180k miles Thanks in advance!

What exactly is or is not happening? You are hitting the button and then...??? Need more information about the symptoms.

Hitting button nothing happens when I put the new encoder motor in i manually put tc in neutral pressed 2h went in with a clank then tried 4h nothing light just blinks. Can't get it in neutral by holding the 2 buttons fo 10 sec thanks

I'd start with the basics. Have you check the fuses? Also have someone hit the button while you crawl under to see if you can hear the transfer case and the front actuator trying to do their respective jobs.

Checked fuse it was good left out for a couple of minutes read that it does something to the tccm. Encoder motor makes noise when pressing 4h can't tell if the motor on the front axle is. Maybe the problem? Any way to test? Thanks again
