06 GMC 2500HD Spare tire hoist

Was finally able to get spare tire hoist down without ruining it. I sandblasted and tried to grease it. Would I be better to just buy a new Dorman 924-502 or use old one. had to get stuck with flat and not able to lower the spare. Do the Dormans have same set-up as GMC or just a cable. Thanks

Doorman's was a direct replacement (identical) on my 2002 2500 HD just make sure you get the one for a 2500 and not the 1500 on the 02 there was a difference, the center hole plae was to small from the 1500. cost was around $90 i think.

These guys, down in Lebanon, ME. will have them in stock, and ship it. good used part, just grease it all over before install.
