greetings, hood removal question

Hi,

 

1997 gmc k1500 5.7 SL. I have decided to replace intake gaskets, and install fuel injection spider upgrade. Hood removal would allow this old body to be more comfortable. Is removing the hood as simple as four bolts (hood to hinge)? Planning on three people (two steadying and lifting), one unbolting. Appreciate any insight.

I would think so

 

I just had my 2012 camaro hood off. Only took 2 people.

 

Removed the gas charged hood support, windshield washer fluid lines that were attached to the hood, and 4 bolts.

After closer inspection and a little thought, ended up detaching the springs (at the hood). A little rope, the lumber rack, virtually as good as hood off. (And alignment is not affected.)Truck is inside, out of the wind of course.
