Hi Everyone, totally new to any automotive forums & I'm not a mechanic so if I'm not using the right terminology sorry up front.

Have a 2004 GMC Sierra crew cab 4x4 1500 XLT, truck had a small leak and overheated. Put antifreeze in, noticed about two weeks later a weird grinding noise and found a huge leak under front passenger side. Checked antifreeze this morning and had to add a lot more and after filling it noticed already had another puddle under truck.

Is this definitively a water pump issue or could there be something else?

Thank you!

Heater Core? If you continue to loose coolant you must keep filling it before it get so low and it runs warmer than it should or you over heat it you are asking for BIG problems.

Thank you. I am not sure if heater core bc fluid would be on inside? Trying to figure out problem before big problems. I think the noise indicated a pulley however prior to noticing the first loss of antifreeze and overheating I thought it was a bearing/hub. Obviously a diagnostic would alleviate the problem but I can't afford to get and fix. I know, could cost me more...

You need to locate the leak visually. That big of leak should be easy to spot
