04 avalanche stepper motor issues

Hello all.

I have a 04 avalanche I just replaced all stepper motors on my cluster, but now I'm having an issue with the oil pressure gauge and volt gauge. Oil pressure gauge moves slightly when I start the engine then reads zero if I unplug the cluster and move the needle to about 40psi on my own plug it back in It slowly bumps back to zero when I press the gas over time and as for the volts it stutters a few times then moves just a hair. Wasn't having really problems with them before hand. Any one know what would be causing these problems.

Thanks everyone

I have an 04 avalanche and had mine replaced a few years ago, the guy that did it said that you have to be extra when soldering the small wires together, and that if it got on the board it could mess it up, maybe check all your soldered connections, or maybe just bad stepper motors, he said the stock motors were notorious for going bad quick, he upgraded mine to a better one but I couldn't tell you what the name of it is ill try and find his number again if I find it ill post it

The 04's had terrible cluster problems. All of my stepper motors have gone south with the exception of the coolant temp. There is a website for Bob's Gauges in Michigan that rebuilds the cluster for pretty cheap. Going to send him mine for rebuild soon. If you are handy with a soldering iron you can do it yourself for pretty cheap. Video's on youtube on how to do it.

Also, GM knew they had a bunch of bad clusters out there. They extended the warranties on them, mine went south right after the warranty extension ran out. Go figure.....
