2000 2500 with traction bars???

So Ive been thinking about possibly doing traction bars on my 2500 its a 2000 at stock height soon to be running 265/75/16 mud claw tires. I have bilsteins 4600 that I just put on about a month ago. I'm not totally sure if I want to do this or not but I do like the look with trucks with them. What are the pros and cons with traction bars if there is any? Also my truck is used to tow a 16 foot lawncare through the warm months and I also haul firewood in the bed. Just looking for any insight. Thanks

One down fall that I can think of would be, depending on how they're mounted, ground clearance. I really don't know much about traction bars and haven't seen a need for them on my truck. I also have a 2000, 2500. Are you planning to do anything else to the suspension? If you plan to lift it, they may be needed, but if you're going to keep everything stock (except for your new tires) I'm not sure if you would see any need for them.

Plans are to just keep it stock for now. Eventually down the road a year or two maybe a leveling kit.

Are you launching the truck from a stop really hard every time? Take it to the track and do 1/4mile runs?

 

Anyway, for a stock drivetrain, driven to not get from the police, they should not do anything to alter your trucks performance.

 

So, I'm not saying don't do it, just that they will be just for looks. Make sure to paint them a bright color so everyone can see you have them installed.
