CORSA side exit cat back, extended cab

Just a few days ago, I posted about my CORSA side exit exhaust system showing up.  I installed it and was amazed at how quiet it was on the freeway, although there is a boomy sound when going up an incline.

Well, for my ears, the sound the CORSA produces is not what I was after.  In town, when going up and down an incline, I don't get the low rumble staccatto sound that I was expecting.  Instead, I get a raspy sound that, in a way, sounds like a vehicle running straights, but at a far less volume.

If you mash the accelerator, all heck breaks loose.  HEE HEE HEE

But, the average, light pressure-on-the-accelerator, just puttin' around in town, driving just produces too much of a raspy sound.  There is no LOW frequency sound at all.

I just don't like the sound.  I don't like rasp.

Note that my CORSA is for an extended cab, short bed truck.  2002 model and upwards.  Not sure what the difference is compared to the earlier models.

Sooooo, it's up for sale.  I don't want to ship.  PM me if you are interested.  My cost, less shipping was about $600.00.  I have about 4 days' worth of driving on the system.

Man, I hate that. I love them on my vette. I wish yours would fit my Tahoe.  Try on the fullsize board and the avalanche board.

Have you made a decesion on the new system? Maybe set up a trade with someone, you know find the system you want and get with someone else so you can swap.

Good luck.

I just figured everyone just did a NEW MESSAGE check and not worry about which board they were in.  Thanks for the heads-up on that.

Yeah, it is puzzling.  I have heard the CORSA on Corvettes and the sound is oh, so goooood.  I have yet to read a negative comment on the CORSAs for the trucks, boats, and cars.  In fact, I read one complaint that they were too quiet.  But, for me, they sound too much like straight pipes.

But, other than the boomy vooooommm sound when going up an incline, they are very quiet on the freeway.  Maybe I have weird ears or something.   :werd:

What I really should do is ride with someone in their truck with the different systems and find what I'm after.  But, I really dislike interior resonance.

In the meantime, I'll probably squeeze off some photos of my CORSA system and put it up for bid on eBay sometime this week.

Maybe you are being too hasty. The Corsa sounds better outside the truck then it does from inside. Have someone do a drive by for you with your truck. You might change your mind.

I did that, actually.  I had the truck driven by me gently, and then again at moderate acceleration.  It was raspy.  Like with no mufflers, but at a diminished volume.

I'm sure this is a "cool" sound, but I just wasn't happy with it.

Ok, y'all.  Below are links for the CORSA tips and for the muffler and pipes.  I'm letting this go for $450 and will go ahead and ship which should be roughly $30.00 via UPS Ground.  This weekend, I'll be bidding the system out on eBay, so if you are interested, please PM me.

And the saga continues...

Y'all, I'm selling just the CORSA muffler and the intermediate pipe that hooks up with the header pipe flange. The remaining pipes and tips remains on my truck.

Please contact me if interested. I prefer to sell in just the Houston to Huntsville area.

Ok, y'all... and the story of trying to sell my muffler continues. It is on eBay with a no reserve auction. I will ship just the muffler:

This is a good chance for you to have a very nice and quiet cruising muffler on the freeway and a smack-talking-take-notice rap muffler while in town, if you floor it. There is absolutely no point in having this sit on the shelf in the garage.
