2014 Sierra wipers running on their own?

Been a lurker for a year, really pulled lots of good info for my truck from you lot - really appreciate it.

I have run into a situation today where my wipers have developed a mind of their own.

I noticed it this morning driving to work - I had the wipers set on a slow intermittent - but they were going their second fastest setting - I adjusted the setting, and it went back to normal. I figured I was imagining things / had not had my morning coffee yet.

This afternoon, it started doing it again. Then when I parked my truck, took the keys out of the ignition, opened the door, closed/locked the truck....the wipers started going all manic.

opened truck, wend and toggled the ignition on/off several times, and they stopped.

Now here is the kicker - my GM dealer whom I purchased from 13 months ago, said this is not covered under warranty (Canada has 60,000km on this, I am at 60,100. Seriously my dealership is a dick over 100 km, but whatever).

So rather then give them money on this, any ideas on how I may correct this myself? MY tech ability is moderate - biggest thing I have done so far is TRS HID upgrade.

Thanks in advance!

wiper motor get power when key is on, the wiper stalk switch controls grounds for speed, check to see if the motor has power with the key off, if it does i would think a faulty ignition switch
