Now I will say,the breaks on my 15 Sierra are way better then my 06 where. I thought my wife's 11 Acadia had really good breaks until I got my new truck.lol.

Drum brakes are not a bad thing IMO. I had the early 800 series that had disc brakes in the rear and I was having to change them out every 20k miles but strangely only had to change the fronts once and that was at 10k miles. What I heard was that GM did a bad job in how they had the rear disc set up in that road debris would get caught up between the pad and disc and accelerate wear. Don't know if this is true or not but I got pretty efficient at changing out the pads on that truck. The brakes also sucked really bad on my 2002.

You had to change your brakes? I'm at 110k and my brakes haven't ever been changed, and the rotors still look fine (family has had the truck since new)

Had a 2000 half ton that was purchased new. Traded in at 74 or 75 thousand miles & never touched the brakes. Actually never touched anything on that truck aside from oil changes.

I fixed my original post, I meant to say I changed the fronts at 110K miles and the pads still had meat on them but the front right rotor was shot so I just changed it all out.
