Yup, she really does (or did) smell bad, like something was burning. Noticed the smell as I shut her down in the garage after running some errands, then on the highway for a bit (running 80MPH of course). Got out of the cab and whew, what stinks so bad!? First thought was dragging brakes or bad rear end gears or something electrical. Didn't see anything hanging down, no leaks, everything was running/working fine. It was late, so I thought I'd check today.

Got her up on the ramps this morning and found it! A !@#$ plastic bag got caught in the exhaust pipe just aft of the muffler and wrapped itself around the pipes and melted. What a mess...time for the heat gun, Scotch Bright pads and putty knife. I've seen a lot of remedies out there, but this has worked for me before. A couple hours later and it is all gone. Glad I found it, but not the mod I needed today, LOL. BURNING SMELL BE GONE! :M16:

Before (there was more nearer to the muffler)

Better than having to remove a sheet of plastic from the rear pinion... had that once in an old 1 ton ford... wasn't fun either
