Rear wheel bearing 1999 silverado 1500

Hey guys I have a 99 silverado 1500 rwd with te g80 rear diff. I had my rear driver tire and rotor off to do some brake work and I noticed when grabbing the hub on the top and bottom I have a bit of back an forth play, not a whole lot but enough to make a slight clunking noise and enough to make it go out of round while spinning. I also have a intermittent highway vibration, just had wheels road forced so it isn't them. The vibration seems to come for a few seconds than disappear completely without changing speed or rpm. Could it be the play in the hub ? If so how do I change the bearing or whatever. I saw one video for 2000-2007 silverados where he removed the rear axle after removing the cover from the diff and pulling out a c clip ? If someone could give me some help that would be great. Thanks in advance

Yep. Gotta remove the axle. It's not that bad of a job really. As a bonus, at least you are gonna be getting that G80 some fresh gear oil. Might live longer.
