Perimeter bed lights plug?

Anyone know what size or type plug is used to plug into the factory block for the bed lighting? I'm looking to save some money and go aftermarket but would like to tie into that and not splice wires.

The plug is only sold with the harness, and the harness costs almost as much as the whole light kit. Why not just get the kit?

You can take the dummy plug and drill out the holes and silicone some wires in. Theres a thread here somewhere. That's what I'm going to do. $20-30 vs $100-130.

I'm sure it's just a standard gm 8 pin connector. Only problem is they have about a dozen different snap/mount positions. I don't want to buy the whole kit, but you can get just a plug for about 4 bucks. It's just knowing which one to get.

i just drilled out the two holes. then used the right female spade connectors with wires attached, put connectors on the block first and the slide the wires throught the two holes and snap the connector back on the block, then fill the holes in with silicone

Connector is different on the '16.....six pins instead of eight, only 2 are active for the lighting kit....and there is no longer a connector block but relocated individual connectors, easily accessible with the spare tire stowed in place..
