'00 Silverado 1500 fueling problems

hey new here guys,

so i have a 2000 silverado 1500 with a v6 in it. Every time i put fuel in it a couple of miles later it shuts down and wont start back up until about an hour later. So i came to the realization, after searching the forums, it has to do with my evap. I want to buy the two "valves" and replace them both to see if that fixes it.

can someone point me in the right direction as to which parts i need? Are there any updated parts for this fix?

ive searched and can not come up with a solution.

thanks

why would you say fuel pump?

It seems to be a common issue that it sounds like evap. valves

I just need to know exactly which parts i need and if there are any updated parts so i wont reoccur.

I have the same truck mine just turned off when Idling and I had to tow it home with my dodge the fuel pump can go out at any time on these trucks.

so the fuel pump can randomly shut off and back on again.

i doubt its that because this problem occurs only after refueling

Have you checked for stored codes? And it only happens after a refueling event, and always almost immediately?

have not checked.. I have no CEL, but not sure if the light even works.

only after refueling and i can maybe drive a few miles with it before it begins to start. a few meaning about 5 miles.

Had a similar problem on my Grand Prix. I had O’Reilly check for the codes and then bought the purge valve. Once I got the valve in hand, I did a google search to find out where it was located. Took about 10 minutes to watch the video and change the valve.

Doubt it is a fuel pump with the description you are giving. Go get Autozone or another parts store to check for codes.

The one from O'Reilly looks just like the one I replaced on the Grand Prix. Its pretty cheap, so put it on before buying the one on amazon. Check with O'Reilly and see if they can get the other solenoid kit cheaper.

ok so i replaced the vent valve and solenoid that i previously posted about.

Today i was driving home going up a hill and the truck decides to stall out mid way. It didnt shut right off, it sort of bogged down and tried to stay alive with choppy idleing then died. let it sit for a few, starts up hit the gas and shuts off.

let it sit for 5 minutes and now it wont start ( video)

let it sit for 10 more minutes, starts up i lay on the gas while in drive and it moves. As its going up hill it sounds horrible as if its misfiring and backfiring and has barley any power. it then shuts off again on me.

let it sit 10 minutes, starts up fine, runs fine, drive 5 more miles and im home as if nothing was wrong.

WTF is going on here!?

will try to get a video up once i figure it out

Test the fuel pressure, and check/change the fuel filter.
