Has anyone installed rear DVD in their truck?

I have the iPad mount for the back of the headrest, but my 4 year old has a lot of DVD's and missed the center flip down in my Tahoe, so I am considering adding DVD headreasts or a flip down.

I do not want junk. I would love it if I could insert the DVD into the dash and have it play on the rear DVD.

Has anyone added rear DVD and are you happy with it?

I haven't "added" it but I have it in my 15 denali ordered from the factory and till the kids are older the wife and I both will be having them in our cars. Most people on here will tell you to just get an ipad cause it cheaper, but as you have noticed the advantages of it being integrated are there and worth it for me. Hard to find in the trucks

I think gm does have the set that you can add to your headrests.

I don't think you can add an aftermarket rear seat DVD player to the dash at least not without significant modification. I ended up getting a tablet based headrest DVD player system and when it works it's great. It just seems to be pretty unreliable. My kids are 9 and 7 so they can pretty well manage things themselves but several times I'll hear "the DVD player isn't working. The stereo guys can't seem to figure it out because it will work when I take it in. If I had to do it over, I would probably get the GM headrest system installed. I'm guessing it will be less headaches.

had a pretty expensive aftermarket one in my old tahoe...same thing - dad the DVD player isn't working.

now that they are older and the available of content on Netfix / hulu / etc...they just bring their I-pad / or stream from their phone...

Stay away from Concept CLD-700X and they only lasted about 6 months and the motors would intermittently overheat or just quit working all together and the buttons failed on me as well. The design of the actual headrest does not work well at all with the 2014+ trucks as it sits too far back from the front edge of the seat. I have not tried the 9 inch versions though.
