New BFG TAs for the Av

I had new LT 265/75 R16 BFG TAs installed on my Avalanche today, replacing the stock P265/70 tires with 45K on them. The crosswind wandering problem I've experienced since new is gone! I credit the stiffer sidewall. There is a bit more tire noise, a bit more connected ride (some may say rougher), and the slightly larger aspect ratio means I have to lower my observed speed 3.4% to match the previous speedo reading. (72.5 MPH now = 75 MPH before). So now I'm probably right on.

A big thumbs up for Belle Tire on S. Cedar in Lansing, MI. I dropped off the truck, expecting to pay about $700 for 4 tires, alignment, & tax. When I picked the truck up at lunch, they said it didn't need an alignment and didn't charge me for it. I also whipped out my AAA car and further dropped the "out the door" price to $595.

I thought the avvy's had 17" rims?

How could you put 285/75 16's on??

Stretching 16s onto 17 inch rims prevents the bead from breaking loose on burnouts. :smash:
