Front passenger air vent

Front passenger side far right vent doesn't have the same volume no matter what fan speed. My local dealer can't do anything to resolve the issue. It is a design issue that GM must address and come up with a solution. Seems to only affect trucks with the center console.

I dont have a center console and its weaker on the far right vent. The console doesnt have any air vents or anything that could affect airflow does it?

Ok, went to dinner in it, was 90 plus outside, so had A/C up pretty good. Same issue, it does come out & is cold, it just does not come out as strong. I do not have a center console, bench seat with fold down armrest. Wonder if the little vent to the side that blows on passenger side window in winter will do the same thing? It might not blow out as strong. The truck has to have a design isssue with this vent because so many of us have the same problem. Please keep us updated everyone on anything you might find out if taken to dealership, possible problem/solution. At least it comes out, but for money we pay would want it to be right.

Yes the far passenger side vent is weaker flow. (complaint from the wife!) Like an earlier poster said if they tear into your dash they will probably mess up more than they fix. No way I am taking the truck back for this issue. I simply let the wife drive now she loves the new GM Borla exhaust system tries to bark the tires at every take off. RUINING MY GAS MILEAGE average so maybe the vent issue should be moved up a couple of notches on the priority list!!! hahahaha

Yep, same thing here. 2016 All Terrain with center console. Took it to the dealership and they acknowledged that it was blowing weaker than the other vents but said all 2016s are like that. Filed a complaint with GM Customer Care and they said since it is working "as designed" there is nothing that can be done. They also said if enough people complain about it then their Engineers will research to determine if there is a design flaw.

Middle of summer in Phoenix really sucks with only three fully functional vents!!!

Hello everyone. I noticed this same issue day 2 after i bought the truck. 2016 ltz 1500 silverado. Took it to dealership and they said they have a fix for it. Also said that the truck was designed that way to give more air flow to the middle vents because of the lack of rear vents. I say BS its a defect in the truck. So there fix is to shave down or cut the area of plastic where the air flows to the vent with no air flow to make the path bigger. Keep in mind the entire dash has to be taken apart. The service man said that this would fix it and that its only on the 2016 models. Anyone had any other info about this problem. i wish i never bought the truck now.
