Towing question

Looks like my wife and I are purchasing a new travel trailer. It's approximately 21ft long not including the hitch length and dry weight is around 3400 lbs.

I've never really towed much and nothing with my truck. It has the 5.3 with 3.42 gears. Is there anything I need to be cautious of with towing this thing? We wanted something that our traverse could tow too.

The truck will tow it fine, just be sure to have a brake controller installed if it did not come with the factory one, get a weight distributing hitch, and an anti-sway bar. Your RV dealer should be able to take care of that for you.

Truck has the factory brake controller. I believe the RV dealer is including a weight distributing hitch with our deal.

Our traverse has the tow package but am not sure if it has the brake controller wiring.

I have the same engine/rear end ratio in my Chevy and it towed my travel trailer no problem. It is 29' and 4600lbs dry. Like Muddkatt said, with brake control and a weight distribution you should have no issue.
