How do the 2016/2017 LED headlights compare to a HID retrofit?

Had the retrofitsource 35w kit in my factory lights and output was better but not as good/reliable as the 17 LED lights.

night pic that should help.

Unless you are doing a full retrofit and putting in new projectors I'd say the 16/17 LED's are the way to go...

Thanks guys. That is helpful. Looks like they have a pretty good cutoff. Where are y'all buying them from?

eBay, car-part.com, here. Couple have bought from gm with employee pricing.

I have a buddy here in town (Wichita Kansas) that works at a dealership but the owners also own a GMC dealership and he quoted me $3095 after tax his cost. I also have a connection at LKQ here in town and he told me they can't get the LED headlights only the HID and the LED tail lights are refurb's and said they are kind of a crap shoot, I won't know what I'm getting until I get it. I'm thinking the LKQ here in town just can't get them they have to be available somewhere.

So I have a 2014 SLE I am assuming I just need the lights and harnesses still.

As far as the DRL shutting off when the blinker is on is that fixed now as well?

You have an SLE so you need the full harness from gen5diy because you need to grab separate power for the LED DRL. Because of that there no way to interrupt the power when you flip the signal on

I'd like to confirm; if I have a 2015 Sierra Denali I can order 2016 Sierra Denali LED headlamps and install them into my 2015, correct? If so, being that both are Denali's, would I need the gen5diy harness?

Yes you can install them. Get in touch with zmnypit here. He makes the harness you need for about ½ the price if the gen5diy harness...

I have a 2015 GMC Sierra Denali. I'm trying to put the upgraded GMC Denali headlights in it. Being that both trim levels are Denali, will I still require the special wiring harness?

Yes you need the wiring harness from zmnypit. Among other things the connections are different...
