I almost feel as if this is normal operation thanks to their harness.

They use a relay setup I think so it would make sense the headlights would only come on with the ignition on.

Rather than use capacitors to make up for the pulse width management they used relays.

Personally if you have an SLT truck the harness they sell is over priced and over kill for what you need. You only need two small harnesses with built in resistors and capacitors along with the correct plugs to make the new headlights plug and play while retaining all normal OEM functions for your 2014. Zmnypit is the creator of the harness I am talking about.

The thing is,they worked with the ignition off when I first draped the harness on and tested it. I'll check fuses.

You should return your harness and get the harness zmnypit custom makes. I just installed my headlamps using his harness and it turned out well. No need for nasty extra wires and fuse taps. Direct plug and play.

I've asked zmnypit for a price. Haven't heard back yet.

Replied this morning. I try and check here a couple times a day but once I'm off work at 4 very seldom do I check until the next day for anyone that PMs me. Thanks!

Got the DRL off mods soldered up and tested. Trying to figure out a waterproof enclosure to put them in. They are little less than 1-1/2"x1-1/2". Any suggestions?

I've looked at various project boxes. Problem is the $$ adds up when two per set is needed. May try this week to make a mold and buy some potting compound and see if thats more economical.

After scouring the web looking for project boxes I came to the same conclusion, A mold and potting them is the most economical, not sure how well they'll dissipate heat and potting will also make them irreparable.

Has anybody purchased used insurance grade headlights? I'm not sure what the "insurance grade" means.

Thank you.

I did. Usually grade A/Insurance grade parts mean they are in great shape and can be used as parts on other vehicles with insurance claims.

All PM's and texts replied to. Relays arriving today for the DRL mod so hopefully start soldering those up this weekend.

Headlights for anyone looking. Probably get a deal with best offer

I just purchased these. I been following along with most of the post. I do want more info about the harness needed to make the DRL shut off when turn signals are active. Do I still need to purchase the Gen5 harness or Is there another harness that I can buy that is plug and play, that will control the DRL w/turn signals?
