As others have said, if your dealer ordered you a "Short" box you got the 5'8" (which is what your old one was).

If they ordered you a "Standard" box you got the 6'6".

 

Easiest ways to tell are to look at where the fuel filler is or just measure the length of the load floor of the bed.

Thanks again for all the replies. My confusion was about whether the old one was a short box. The new one definitely will be because I already put an order in for one specifically with a short box.

The silver one is not a short box. You can clearly see that the gas fill door is flat on body. Short boxes don't have hardly any room between the curve of fender and front of bed.

Actually the silver one IS a short box since that is all that was available on the 2010-2013 1500's. The gas fill door was still located on the flat part of the body on the Sierra for those years because the fender flares were a little different.

 

Based on your pics both the old and new truck are the "short" (5'8") box.
