Roll N Lock A series...anyone have it

Not sure about the series, think it is M, but I've had my Roll N Lock for over a year and love it. I had a BakFlip on my last truck and the Roll N Lock is sooooo much better.

I have one sitting in my garage that I am installing this weekend. I had a Gator FX3 that fell apart in 45 days.I went this route based on a recommendation from a friend that has one. Kudos to Auto Customs for giving me full refund and paying the return shipping.

The M series has the vinyl over the aluminum slats where the A series is just all aluminum. I will not be good about taking care of the vinyl is the reason I'm looking at the A series.

Ok, I have the vinyl and it does require a bit of care with 303 protectant but my truck is under cover so it's only needed a few times a year. I can see that not having to do it at all would be a benefit for some folks.

Did you have any luck getting it installed? Would like to hear your thoughts if you did and maybe even a pic or two if possible.

Any luck yet? Getting the fever again. It will either be this one or the Pace Edwards full metal jacket. Roll n Lock is offering a free cargo manager right now that seems interesting.

Well I went ahead and got what I was initially wanting. Roll N Lock A series. Here's my take on it with some pictures.

Love the look and feel of the cover. Overall it is a very nice and solid.

Took 3 weeks to get, whether that was them or AutoAntything who knows. At time of purchase was a free cargo manager. Waiting on it.

Installation was pretty straight forward...on the 3rd and final tweak and adjustment. Opens and closes very easy, might be slightly heavy for "girls". After this I could install one much easier and quicker on the next as goes things like this. Watching the video helps.

Minor Installation issues that arose were

1- clamp screw went up between plastic bed cap and of the bed itself. No big deal, just be aware. see picture

2-Main clamp on container slipped down while screwing in set screw. My fault, not snug enough on clamp. Had to remove side rail to fix.

3-Be aware of rail overlapping tailgate with potential rubbing.

Had to trim bed liner and tailgate liner, that ahead of time though. Tinsnips work pretty good.

Cons would be.

1- she leaks slightly more than I thought, I may be able to tweak on a couple of those. Although it was a downpour. see pictures

Through a car wash it wasn't so bad.

2- the slats appear to let water seep into the cracks - see picture

3- just noticed this today, I believe it is soap residue from washing showing in the cracks, need to rinse better. see picture.

I didn't want a vinyl cover because of long term care of it but these were some unexpected things with the aluminum slat cover.
