Tires

Hey guys I have a 2014 Silverado high country. I am looking at new tires. What would you get? I live in West Texas but would go to New Mexico mountains a few times. Maybe a little snow or ice once or twice a year I am looking at the bf Goodrich or Michelin defender. Or should I be looking at something else. Also does anyone know will you loose mpg with the bf Goodrich and how is the wear ussually. Thanks

IMO Michelin wins, defender is mostly a highway tire, try the AT2 2nd gen now. The tire now has a "little" of the tread design on the sidewall design, it looks a bit more aggressive.

Yeah I would like agressive looking but I mainly drive roads or hwy but would like to be able to go threw some snow or heavy rain with no problem I will check those tires out

Have 2014 Z71 LTZ 4WD and put Goodrich XO2s on GMs 20" rims, went 1 size wider than OEM. Have about 28k on them and wearing great, 78k on the truck. Lots of all types of driving, very nice in snow. Mileage from previous Goodyear SRAs went from 19.2 to 18.5, again all types of driving. I'd recommend them, good luck.

Got any pics?

How many miles you think you will get out of them?

I expect them to be on the truck for another 30k or so. Live in Las Vegas and commute regularly to southern Utah mountains. I judge my tires each winter since having had some scary situations with Goodyear wranglers in the ice & snow. They get some brutal heat driving city and highway, and gravel roads in Utah summer as well as mud and snow. No pictures but I have got plenty of compliments. Can't beat the price too. had always been a Goodyear guy, tried some Firestones with reasonable success but must say these are my favorite. I put on about 30,000 miles a year. I am ashamed to say I have not rotated them yet, but wear front & back is fairly even to date. I don't know if that speaks more to the truck or the tires.
